PLEASE NOTE: Book choices are subject to change. Please save your receipt and do not write in or otherwise alter your books/materials until the first day of class. If you do not see the book list you need, please contact the department.

Books can also be ordered online through Beck's, Amazon, www.cheapesttextbooks.com, and many others. If you have any questions or concerns about textbooks, (e.g. books not being available at the book store) please contact Brenda Weddington, Dean of Students, bweddington@ccc.edu, or at phone number: (773) 907-4755.

If you are purchasing a used bundle (i.e. book plus CD or online subscription), please be aware that the online component of the package will probably not be valid, and will have to be purchased new.

What is the Book Exchange?

The Book Exchange is an affordable, convenient for Truman College students to save money on their textbooks.

Hours

The Truman College Book Exchange operates during the following hours: (Fall and Spring only)
Monday – Wednesday 11:00am – 2:00pm and 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Thursday 11:00am -2:00pm
Friday Closed

Selling Your Books

Acting as a agent for the seller, the Exchange take in books at the start of the Fall and Spring semesters, allowing students to recover some of their original investment in textbooks. In many cases, students can recover from 40% to 60% of their original book expenditure.

If your books are sold, you will receive the money (minus 10% of the sale price). For more information, call the Student Activities Office at (773) 907-4831.

Buying Your Books

The Book Exchange sells books for 20-30% less than Beck's Bookstore used textbook prices. The Book Exchange allow students to avoid the shipping charges associated with Internet purchases. Since The Book Exchange stocks only the editions of texts as requisitioned by Truman College staff, students won't run the risk of purchasing the wrong book.

Outstanding Customer Service

The Book Exchange has been providing textbooks for the Truman College community for many years. The exchange is able to work closely with all academic departments and their faculty to acquire the correct materials that are required and recommended for courses.

Student-Friendly Return Policy

If a professor changes course requirements, or if the wrong edition was purchased, simply bring the original receipt with the book(s) (in the same condition they were in when purchased) back to The Book Exchange during the first two weeks of class to receive a refund.

Considerate Staff

TBX personnel will go beyond normal customer service duties to assist students in adjusting to college life and dealing with stressful situations. The staff can be a great resource regarding Truman College policies and procedures.

Payment Options

While many students rely on grants, loans and scholarships, The Book Exchange can not accept funds from financial aid programs for textbook purchases. The Book Exchange only accepts cash for ALL Textbook purchases.
